Installing the Windows development tools

Microsoft Visual Studio is required to build apps for Windows devices.

Before you begin

• Review the Maximo® Anywhere 7.6.4 system requirements, and install the third-party tools.
• Windows devices require Visual C++ redistributable packages, which must be installed if they are not already on the device. For more information, see Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio.

About this task

Restriction: Visual Studio Express® for Web is not supported.

1. From the Visual Studio website, download a supported version of Visual Studio.
2. Run the executable file.
3. Complete the installation wizard.
