This tutorial shows you how to sort, merge, and copy data sets by writing DFSORT program control statements that are processed with JCL.

DFSORT program control statements are input in the JCL used to run DFSORT. To keep the instructions simple, the program control statements are covered first and the related JCL statements are explained afterward. For most of the tutorials you will concentrate on JCL-invoked DFSORT, that is, running DFSORT with JCL.
