Upgrading Asset Repository to version 2020.4

IBM Cloud Pak® for Integration Asset Repository is an add-on to the IBM Cloud Pak for Integration that allows the user to store, manage, retrieve and search integration assets within the IBM Cloud Pak for Integration and its capabilities. For more information about this capability, see Installing and Configuring Asset Repository.

Upgrading from version 2020.2 or 2020.3

Upgrading the Asset Repository involves updating the Asset Repository operator using OLM, and then updating the Asset Repository deployment by editing the Asset Repository custom resource. These operations can be configured to happen automatically, or can be performed manually.

  1. Upgrade the operator

The Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) attempts to upgrade an operator when a new version is available to the cluster. If the Asset Repository operator subscription is set to Automatic approval, no action is required. Otherwise, approve the InstallPlan created by OLM to upgrade the operator.

  2. Upgrade the operator channel

Under Subscription Details, select the Channel field and change to the new channel. This manual step is required, even when automatic upgrades are configured.

  3. Upgrade the operand

An upgraded Asset Repository operator may support new versions of the Asset Repository.

If your Asset Repository spec.version is set to use a channel, and the operator supports a newer version in that channel, your Asset Repository deployment is automatically upgraded. You must also update the spec.license.license value in the CR.

If your Asset Repository spec.version is set to use a specific version, upgrade your Asset Repository by updating the spec.version and adding a valid spec.license.license in the AssetRepository CR. For EUS use L-RJON-BUVMQX or L-RJON-BUVMYB.

For more information about specific licenses, see Licensing.

Rolling back an operand version

To roll back Cloud Pak for Integration to a previous version:

  1. In the AssetRepository resource, set spec.version to the desired version of Cloud Pak for Integration.

  2. Delete these network policies:
