Context, CMAS context, and scope
Stabilized feature: CICSPlex SM Web User Interface (WUI) is stabilized, although
minor additions to views continue. You can use CICS Explorer® in replacement of the WUI. CICS
Explorer provides an extensive set of task-oriented views, powerful context-sensitive editors,
and supports the new features of CICS® TS, enabling developers
and systems programmers to be more productive. See also Stabilization notices.
You can set the context, CMAS context and scope to be used when you navigate from the current menu in the selection criteria area of a menu and the selection criteria and refresh area of a view. Either the context or the CMAS context is used for all operations.
- Context
- This is the CICSplex name and is used for almost all views.
- CMAS context
- This is the CMAS name. This is used only when you are viewing CMAS level configuration data such as CMAS status and the CICSplexes connected to a CMAS.
- Scope
- This is a CICSplex, CICS group MAS or logical scope name. The scope is a subset of the context, and limits the effects of CICSPlex® SM commands to particular CICS systems or resources. If the CMAS context is being used, the scope is ignored. The scope is only used for certain resource types.
