When you configure the System Data Engine, you can set the collect processing offset time on the OFFTIME clause of the COLLECT statement to specify how long to defer the System Data Engine data collection, and to make each System Data Engine start data collection at different times. By doing this you will be able to avoid CPU spike during peak time.
The data source type values for Splunk data streams can be customized in the Configuration Tool.
RMF III data collection resume at ZCDP restart is supported.
Improvements on how you deploy and operate the Data Receiver.
Support sending the following data to Splunk via HEC:
  • CICS EYULOG
  • CICS MSGUSR
  • WebSphere SYSOUT
  • WebSphere SYSPRINT
  • WebSphere SYSPRINT in Distributed Format
  • WebSphere USS SYSOUT
  • WebSphere USS SYSPRINT
  • WebSphere USS SYSPRINT in Distributed Format
  • USS Syslogd
  • NetView Netlog
  • zSecure
  • Generic data streams
Provide a flowchart to help users with their troubleshooting process.

PTF Primary new features More information
Released in June 2020:
  • UJ03273
The Log Forwarder can collect RMF Monitor III RMF_SPACEG, RMF_SYSSUM, and RMF_USAGE reports.
The System Data Engine can collect DFSMS Data Collection Facility (DCOLLECT) data.
The System Data Engine can collect SMF 119 subtype 94 - 98 records and SMF 123 subtype 1 records.
You can use the DEFINE TABLE statement in the System Date Engine language to define how to create a virtual table to connect multiple updates with the same attributes.
The readability of policies in the Configuration Tool is improved. In the Policy Profile Edit window, when you click a Subscriber node, all nodes and lines that are connected to this subscriber node are highlighted to show the data flow clearly.

Primary new features More information
The Log Forwarder can collect RMF Monitor III CPC Capacity Report.

To do that, configure the RMF III Report data streams and grant the Log Forwarder user ID access to generate PassTicket when accessing the RMF Distributed Data Server (DDS). Then create a policy with the RMF_CPC data stream selected.

The IBM Z Common Data Provider can collect SMF 119 subtype 11 and subtype 12.
The System Data Engine zIIP offload function is improved.

The System Data Engine can now offload more work to zIIPs and at the same time reduce the additional overhead incurred.

The IBM Z Common Data Provider Buffered Splunk Ingestion App is compatible with Splunk Cloud.

With the Buffered Splunk Ingestion App installed in the Splunk Cloud environment, you can now send data to your Splunk Cloud instance via the Data Receiver.
