Deprecated and removed features of IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0

IBM® Business Process Manager V8.6.0 extends capabilities that are found in previous versions of IBM Business Process Manager, IBM Integration Designer, WebSphere® Lombardi Edition, WebSphere Process Server IBM Integration Designer, IBM WebSphere Lombardi Edition, WebSphere Process Server, and other business process management products. Some features of those other products or previous versions are deprecated and removed in IBM BPM V8.6.0.

Deprecated features

If a feature is listed as deprecated, or certain system requirements are indicated as deprecated on the Software Product Compatibility Reports website, IBM might remove this capability or support in a subsequent release of the product to focus on follow-on technologies or the strategic feature that is listed under Action. Typically, a feature is not deprecated unless an equivalent alternative is provided or available. A feature is not removed for at least two releases after the deprecation of the feature is declared. In rare cases, it might be necessary to remove features sooner; such cases are indicated in the descriptions of these removed features.

The following features from previous releases are deprecated in IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0.

Desktop IBM Process Designer JSR 286 compliant portal	The desktop Process Designer JSR 286 compliant portal is deprecated.
IBM Integration Designer JSR 286 compliant portal	The IBM Integration Designer JSR 286 compliant portal is deprecated.
DB2 10.1	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, support for DB2 10.1 is deprecated.	Use a supported version of DB2.
DB2 for zOS 10.1	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, support for DB2 for zOS 10.1 is deprecated.	Use a supported version of DB2 for zOS.
Oracle 11g Release 2	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, support for Oracle 11g Release 2 is deprecated.	Use a supported version of Oracle.
WebSphere Adapter for IBM i	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, support for WebSphere Adapter for IBM i is deprecated.
WebSphere Adapter for Lotus Domino	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, support for WebSphere Adapter for Lotus Domino is deprecated.
WebSphere Adapter for Oracle E-Business Suite	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, support for WebSphere Adapter for Oracle E-Business Suite is deprecated.
IBM MobileFirst	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, support for generating MobileFirst adaptors is deprecated.	Use IBM Mobile Foundation.
Cloud Product Insights	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2018.03, support for Cloud Product Insights is deprecated.	Use an alternative monitoring service that can consume IBM Business Process Manager events. Be aware that IBM Business Process Manager support for Cloud Product Insights will terminate when the Cloud Product Insights service is withdrawn on May 13, 2018.
Security-hardening properties with the `ProcessServer` prefix	These properties were changed from `ProcessServer.property` to `Security.property`. When you upgrade to V8.6 2018.03, these properties are automatically migrated to their new names. If you have automated scripts to set or read these properties using `AdminTask.getBPMProperty(...)` or `AdminTask.setBPMProperty(...)`, the AdminTask will accept either name.	Update your scripts to use `Security.property` instead of `ProcessServer.property`. For a list of the security-hardening properties, see Security-hardening properties.

Removed features

The following features from previous releases are removed in IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0:

Windows 7 without SP1, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (base and all Service Packs)	Windows 7 without SP1, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (base and all Service Packs) are not supported because they are not supported by IBM Java 8.0. RHEL KVM 7.2	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2017.12, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Kernal-based Virtual Machine 7.2 is not supported.
Oracle 11g Enterprise/Standard R1	Oracle 11g Enterprise and Oracle 11g Standard R1 are not supported.	Use a supported version of Oracle.

WebSphere Portal Server 8.0 and 8.5	WebSphere Portal Server 8.0 and 8.5 are not supported for portlet generation in Web Process Designer.	Use Desktop Process Designer.
IBM MobileFirst V7.1	In IBM Business Process Manager V8.6.0 cumulative fix 2018.03, generating MobileFirst adaptors is not supported.	Use IBM Mobile Foundation.
