Storage options
Storage options are available for IBM Cloud Pak for Multicloud Management.
IBM Cloud Pak for Multicloud Management supports IBM Storage Suite for IBM Cloud Paks. This suite of offerings includes:
- Object storage from IBM Cloud Object Storage or Red Hat Ceph
- OpenShift Container Storage version 4.x, from version 4.2 or higher
Additional storage providers are recommended for specific components. See the following table for details.

If you are doing an on-prem deployment, the following cloud providers offer all 3 types of required storage (File storage, Block storage, S3 bucket/Object storage):
- Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage
- Ceph
- Portworx
If you are using a public cloud, each cloud provider has options for File storage, Block storage, and S3 bucket (Object storage).
Note:
- If you do not use Monitoring, you don't need an S3 bucket (Object storage).
- When you work with IBM Support on your deployment sizing, IBM can provide storage I/O requirements.
