Disabling automatic feature detection

Disable automatic feature detection to prevent configuration problems.

About this task

Automatic feature detection can cause configuration problems when different projects have different requirements that are not compatible with one another. Disable feature detection by completing the following steps:

1. Open the Preferences window.
2. Expand Server.
3. Select Liberty Server.
4. Clear Enable automatic feature detection to disable automatic feature detection. Alternatively, select Enable automatic feature detection and select one of the following more precise feature detection options from the drop-down list: Always add, Prompt before adding, or Never add.
   • Always add always uses feature detection.
   • Prompt before adding notifies you before automatic feature detection uses feature detection.
   • Never add never uses feature detection.
5. Click Apply.
6. Click OK.
