Performance enhancements
Db2® 11.5.3 contains performance enhancements that improve authentication.
Attention: The enhancements in this topic are included in the
Db2 11.5.3 mod pack release, which is available only for single container deployments of Db2 Warehouse
and IBM Integrated
Analytics System (IIAS).
The following table lists performance enhancements that have been added to Db2
11.5.3:

| Introduction of a cache for User ID and Password based authentication and group lookup | A new cache for User ID and Password based authentication plugins has been introduced to relieve pressure on backend authentication mechanisms. The cache stores information about successful authentications and compares the information from new, incoming authentication requests against the cached entries to see if a valid match is found. If the match is found, then the new authentication request is considered successful and subsequent Db2 post-authentication processing begins. See Authentication and group cache for more details. |
