Installation requirements for Db2 database products
Before you install your Db2 database product, ensure that the system you choose meets the necessary operating system, hardware, software, communications, disk, and memory requirements. The db2prereqcheck command checks whether your system meets the prerequisites for the installation. For more information, see topic Checking installation prerequisites with db2prereqcheck.

The system requirements reports that you access from these pages are created using the IBM®
Software Product Compatibility
Reports (SPCR) tool. With the SPCR tool, you
can search from complete lists of supported operating systems, system requirements, prerequisites,
and optional supported software for Db2 database products.
- Code signing Db2
- With the release of Db2 11.5.7, all Linux and Unix installation image files are signed by IBM to protect integrity and authenticity. Every image is shipped with an associated signature file and a public key. For more information, see Code signing Db2 images released before February 28th, 2023 and Code signing Db2 images on and after February 28th, 2023.
- Disk and memory requirements
- The disk space that is required for your product depends on the type of installation you choose and the type of file system you have. Likewise, memory requirements are affected by the size and complexity of your database system.
