IBM®
Streams uses Resource Value Units (RVUs) to measure license usage. The RVUs are based on the number of
Activated Processor Cores (CPUs) that are running applications in production. Activated Processor
Cores that are used for Management Services or for ZooKeeper do not require RVU licenses.
About this task
Use the following procedure to determine license usage.
Procedure
- Run the streamtool getdomaincpu command to
determine the number of CPUs that are used by the application resources.
Example command and output for the
domain01
domain:
streamtool getdomaincpu -d domain01
Resource CPU Instance
resource01 16 test,test2
resource02 16 test
Total Application CPU: 32
- Download the Value Unit Converter Excel file from this FTP site.
- In the second tab of the Excel file, enter the total number of CPUs.

file.
