- For RHEL systems, you can use the supplied IBM Cloud Private Docker packages, see Supplied IBM Cloud Private Docker packages.
- IBM Cloud Private Version 3.1.0 was tested on the versions of Docker that are outlined in Table 1 only. Prior or later versions of Docker might work. For more information about Docker's compatibility policy, see Breaking changes and incompatibilities
.
- For SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) nodes, you can either manually install Docker by using the Docker installation
instructions in the SLES documentation or by using the the provided IBM Cloud Private Docker package. The version of Docker that is installed on SLES nodes is version 17.09.1.
Supplied IBM Cloud Private Docker packages
IBM Cloud Private provides Docker packages that can be used for installation on boot and cluster nodes.
The Docker package for manual installation is not available for IBM Cloud Private-CE. For IBM Cloud Private-CE, you must manually install an IBM Cloud Private supported version of Docker from the Docker website. See Manually installing Docker from the Docker website.
- For manual installation on boot and cluster nodes - Docker packages can be obtained from the IBM Passport Advantage®
website. For more information about downloading these packages, contact your IBM sales representative. To complete a manual installation, see Manually installing Docker by using the provided IBM Cloud Private Docker package.
- For installation on cluster nodes - Docker packages are available in the
/<installation_directory>/cluster/docker-engine
directory and can be automatically installed on your cluster nodes during installation. The instructions for installation on cluster nodes are covered in the IBM Cloud Private installation topics, see Installing IBM Cloud Private.
