IBM Netezza Replication Services, Version 1.6

Wiring for Netezza host-to-replication log server connections

You must implement connections between the Netezza® hosts and the switch and between the switch and the replication log server hosts.

Single-rack IBM® Netezza 1000 and single-rack IBM PureData™ System for Analytics N1001 and N2001 models have two highly available x3650 M3 hosts that are located in the same rack. Multirack IBM Netezza 1000 and multirack IBM PureData System for Analytics N1001 and N2001 models have two highly available x3850 X5 hosts: Host 1 is in the first rack, and Host 2 is in the second rack.

The following figure shows the recommended connections from the M3 Netezza hosts to the switch (shown in dark blue) and from the switch to the replication log server host (shown in green). This image shows typical Netezza host NIC configurations, but your Netezza hosts might already be using the suggested ports. Your IT department or IBM Netezza representative can help you to determine the appropriate connections for your Netezza systems to provide the most reliability for your replication traffic.

Figure 1. Netezza hosts (x3650 M3) to switch to HA replication log server host connections
The diagram shows two Netezza hosts that each have two connections to a switch. The switch has two connections to one replication log server host and two connections to another replication log server host.
