Disabling the saving of operation credentials

IBM® Data Server Manager (DSM) administrators can now disable the user option of saving operation credentials from a connection profile to the repository database.

About this task

Currently, when a user is prompted to enter their operation credentials, a check box is displayed, providing them with the option of saving their credentials to the repository database. With the release of DSM V2.1.5, DSM administrators can disable this option by manually editing the dswebserver_override.properties file. This ensures that, once their DSM session expires, users will be required to enter their operation credentials again to gain access to their Db2® connection.

Procedure

To disable the saving of operation credentials:

  1. From the \Config folder of your DSM installation, select and open the dswebserver_override.properties file.
  2. Add the operation.credentials.save.to.repository property and set it to false.
  3. Save the file and restart DSM.

Results

Now, when a user is prompted to enter their operation credentials, the Save credentials to repository option will not be displayed.
