FSPSP65

The network cabling or network configuration is incorrect. As a result, both service processor Ethernet ports have the same IP subnet.

The possible causes of the problem are:
  • A configuration error occurred in the static IP address assignment mode. If the private LAN is set up for static IPs, the system administrator might have selected IPs that are on the same subnet.
  • A physical connection error occurred in DHCP mode. The HMC ports of the service processor are connected to the same hub or switch, resulting in both of the ports connecting to the same HMC.
  • A VLAN configuration error occurred. The HMC ports of the service processor that are connected to switch ports on a managed switch are incorrectly configured to be on the same VLAN.

To resolve the problem, complete the following steps:

  1. Ensure that the Ethernet port cabling of the managed system is correct. For more information, see Cabling the HMC and FSP.
  2. Ensure that the VLANs on the managed switch are configured correctly.
  3. For static configuration of IP addresses, ensure that the IP addresses for the HMC ports are chosen from different subnets.

This ends the procedure.
