80/160 GB DAT160 SAS tape drive (FC 5619)

For FC 5619, one of the following feature codes must be ordered to internally attach the tape drive:
  • FC 3655 SAS cable group (logic and power) for HH SAS tape in 3.5" DASD backplane. The 3.5" DASD, uses the short cable with part number: 42R5814 (optional 42R5815)
  • FC 3656 SAS cable group (logic and power) for HH SAS tape in SFF DASD backplane. The 2.5" DASD, uses a longer cable with part number: 46K5450 (replaces 42R5815)

Features Description
Description The 80/160 GB DAT160 SAS tape drive is a 5.25-inch, half-high, SAS drive, which provides a high capacity for save/restore and achieve functions. To see an illustration of this drive, see Figure 1. This tape drive uses IBM® DAT160, 4 mm data cartridges and is compression capable, providing a capacity of up to 160 GB with 2:1 compression ratio.

  • Attributes provided: 4 mm tape capability, test cartridge, cleaning cartridge, and a data cartridge
  • Attributes required: One 1.6-inch (41 mm) half-high media bay and one integrated, internal SAS

Media

This tape drive uses 4 mm data cartridges for saving and restoring system data. It is designed to use only DDS (Digital Data Storage) data cartridges. The cartridges are identified by one of the following DDS symbols:

DDS and DAT logos

The tape drive reads and writes data to tape cartridges that are in the DDS4, DAT72, or DAT160 format.
