2027
Deliver an open platform for sovereign AI.
IBM’s hybrid cloud platform will realize the needs of local cloud deployments for the entire generative AI life cycle. Open standards and automation will enable the optimization, interoperability, and evolution of the ecosystem.
Why this matters for our clients and the world
The delivery of local generative AI platforms will help clients meet data sovereignty mandates without compromising on innovation. These open platforms will deliver vendor optionality and improve interoperability, thus reducing investment risk.
The technologies and innovations that will make this possible
Kubernetes and middleware will support generative AI workloads with efficient hardware usage across multiple vendors. OVN-K will enable multi-tenancy and zero-trust access. We will develop abstractions in our cloud programming model to compose generative AI apps and map them to the infrastructure. We will converge Dev/ML/AIOps to offer holistic application insights for improved security automation.
How these advancements will be delivered to IBM clients and partners
The Kubernetes platform for sovereign AI will be productized in OpenShift and OpenShift AI. The entire platform experience for generative AI will be delivered through Red Hat by enhancing and integrating multiple Red Hat Developer technologies.
