IBM: Senate Cybersecurity Legislation a Win for Security & Privacy
Oct 27,2015

Washington, D.C. – IBM today released the following statement on Senate passage of S. 754, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act:

“We applaud Majority Leader McConnell and Minority Leader Reid for securing passage of bipartisan legislation that will improve cyber threat information sharing to help organizations protect against and prevent malicious cyber attacks. Today’s vote is a big win for both security and privacy.

Sharing technical details on the latest digital threats is critical to strengthening America’s cyber defenses. Online criminals actively share information to penetrate networks, steal vital economic and national security data, and compromise the personal information of millions of Americans. This bill will foster greater collaboration between private and public sector cybersecurity professionals, helping them work together in real-time to thwart malicious actors and activities.

With the passage of CISA, IBM strongly encourages Congressional leadership to send President Obama a final cybersecurity information sharing bill for his signature.”
