Standard Ethernet Data Link Control Overview

Standard Ethernet data link control (DLCETHER) is a device manager that follows the generic data link control (GDLC) interface definition.

This DLC device manager provides a passthrough capability that allows transparent data flow and provides an access procedure to transfer four types of data over a Standard Ethernet:

• Datagrams
• Sequenced data
• Identification data
• Logical link controls

The Ethernet device handler and Ethernet high performance LAN adapter transfer the data.
