You can roll back your Netcool/Impact installation to the
previous version of Netcool/Impact.
About this task
After you complete installation of a newer Netcool/Impact
version or fix-pack, you might want to roll back from the newer version
to the previous version of Netcool/Impact. Rollback is different from
uninstall, as an uninstall removes Netcool®/Impact entirely. If you need to roll back Impact to the previous version,
complete the rollback process in the following order:
- Roll back the GUI Server.
- Roll back the Impact Server.
Complete the procedure below to complete
the rollback.
Note: When
you roll back to a previous version of Netcool/Impact, the process
rolls back the binaries and all configurations. If you have made any
configuration changes in the Fix Pack, they will be lost by the roll
back process.
Procedure
- Stop the Impact Server and
the GUI Server.
- Start Installation Manager. Enter the following commands.
- On Windows.
- GUI mode. Enter IMPACT_HOME\install\rollback\rollback_gui.bat
- Console mode. Enter IMPACT_HOME\install\rollback\rollback_console.bat
- On UNIX.
- GUI mode. Enter IMPACT_HOME/install/rollback/rollback_gui.sh
- Console mode. Enter IMPACT_HOME/install/rollback/rollback_console.sh
- Select the Netcool/Impact components
and the version you want to roll back to. Click Rollback.
- Click Finish.
- Open a Windows command-line prompt and change to the directory IMPACT_HOME\install\rollback.
- To copy the configuration files from the backup directory,
run the following script from the command-line prompt.
- On Windows, IMPACT_HOME\install\rollback restore_from_backup.bat.
- On UNIX, IMPACT_HOME/install/rollback restore_from_backup.sh.
- To proceed with the file copy, select Yes.
- Restart the Impact Server and
the GUI Server.
- Start the web browser and clear the browser cache.
