Creating objects in a library user auxiliary storage pool
You can create an object in a specific auxiliary storage pool (ASP) by placing it in a library or folder that is in the ASP.
You can place a library or a folder in an ASP in one of the following ways:
- Specify a value for the ASP parameter on the Create Library (CRTLIB) command or the Create Folder (CTRFLR) command. The default value for the ASP parameter is 1. For independent ASPs, you must also specify the ASP device name in the ASPDEV parameter. The CTRFLR command works for user ASPs only, but not for independent ASPs.
- Restore the library or the folder to a specific ASP by using the RSTASP parameter on the restore command.
Integrated file system objects can reside in a user ASP through the use of user-defined file systems (UDFSs) by following these steps:
- Create a user defined file system in the ASP.
- Mount the UDFS over another directory and use it through the mounted-over path.
