SnapDrive 6.4.2 for Windows is a maintenance and performance - improvement release.
SnapDrive 6.4.2 for Windows includes support for VMware ESXi 5.1 support for VMDK and RDM.
SnapDrive 6.4 for Windows introduces support for the Cluster-Mode edition of Data ONTAP with several limitations; however, only the 7-Mode editions of Data ONTAP are offered by IBM which do not have these limitations. This release also includes several fixes to issues found in prior releases, and it requires upgrades to other N series software to maintain support for certain capabilities.
If DataFabric Manager server is being used to provide Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) with SnapDrive for Windows, you must upgrade from DataFabric Manager to at least the OnCommand Core Package 5.0.2 release to maintain support for this capability. Refer to the Installation and Administration Guide below for additional information on this requirement.
If Snapshot copies of VMDKs (virtual machine disks) on NFS and VMFS (virtual machine file system) datastores are to be managed, you must have installed at least the Virtual Storage Console (VSC) 2.1.1 for VMware vSphere release and properly integrated it with SnapDrive. Refer to the Installation and Administration Guide below for additional information on this requirement.
Installing or upgrading SnapDrive for Windows requires a number of preparations and considerations. Refer to the Installation and Administration Guide for details.

The SnapDrive for Windows software is obtained either from the physical media kits received on order or from software updates available for download using the "Software Packages ...." link from the Download task of the N series support website. Refer to the important information for N series support for step-by-step instructions explaining how to access software packages as part of the complete instructions for entitlement and registration. When following the step-by-step instructions, select the SnapDrive for Windows software package from the N series and related Host Software Downloads - Pick page. Download the files for the version of theSnapDrive for Windows and Windows platform required and install them using the installation instructions found in the Installation and Administration Guide.
