Installing Oracle RDBMS and the Oracle client

Describes the Oracle RDBMS and Oracle client installation and configuration information.

Install the Oracle 12c RDBMS software on a stand-alone system or on the database server in a distributed system. Do not install the Oracle 12c Client software on a stand-alone system. Install the Oracle 12c Client software on the application server in a distributed system only, to make SQL*Plus available to certain programs.
