Maintenance alerts
A maintenance alert for a work order displays the Select Work Orders and PMs window. The window lists deferred or outstanding work orders for the asset that is specified on the current work order. It also lists PMs that are currently due or that will become due.
The Maintenance Alert check box is in the Work Order Tracking (Tr) application and the Quick Reporting (Tr) application. The check box specifies whether the system is to display a maintenance alert when you first save a work order, or when you save the work order upon reaching a specified status.
Your system administrator sets the parameters for maintenance alerts in the Organizations (Tr) application. Parameters include whether the maintenance alert feature is on or off by default, and the status or statuses at which the alert is displayed.
If the Maintenance Alert check box is selected, the Select Work Orders and PMs window is displayed when the work order is saved at a specified status. The check box is editable; you can turn the maintenance alert feature on or off for the current work order.
On the Select Work Orders and PMs window, you can specify that work orders and PMs for all child assets in the asset hierarchy are also to be included. The list of PMs shows the dates and meter readings that the PMs are due at. You can select any or all of the listed work orders and PMs to associate them with the current work order.
You can also view the asset hierarchy of the asset on the work order by opening the drilldown window. On the drilldown, you can navigate to any point in the hierarchy and select an asset number. You can then see all open work orders and PMs for the asset that you selected in the hierarchy. The list can include work orders and PMs for child assets in the hierarchy.
After the maintenance alert has been displayed, the Maintenance Alert check box is cleared. Clearing the check box prevents the Select Work Orders and PMs window from being displayed on every save of the work order. You can select the check box to display the window again, if needed.
