Non-web application objects
Use non-web application objects to control the types of desktop applications that can communicate with one another on your network.
Non-web application objects can contain individual desktop applications, or contain categories of applications, which can contain multiple similar applications.
The Network Security database
provides a limited number of application categories, including commonly used applications that you
might want to reject or to allow access to your network. These include peer-to-peer (P2P)
applications, instant messaging applications, social networking applications, and many more.
Examples:
- P2P applications
- Instant Messaging applications
- File transfer applications
