Maintenance and support commands

The ZUDFM commands provide maintenance and support to optimize the performance of the z/TPFDF product.

ZUDFM ACCESS (ZUDFM OAI): File access using the ID or DSECT name
Use this command to link the current terminal to a subfile when you know the file ID or the DSECT name of the file, and to display information about the file that you are linking to.
ZUDFM ADD (ZUDFM OAA): Add LRECs to a subfile
Use this command to add logical records (LRECs) to the subfile that you are currently linked to. You can add LRECs to the end of the subfile or at a specific position in the subfile.
ZUDFM CACHE (ZUDFM OAK): Manage cache settings
Use this command to manage the z/TPFDF cache settings for the system or for a z/TPFDF file.
ZUDFM COPY (ZUDFM OAC): Copy and restore a subfile
ZUDFM DEF (ZUDFM OAI/DBTAB): Display DBDEF table items
Use this command to maintain and display information from various z/TPFDF DBDEF tables.
ZUDFM DELETE (ZUDFM OAX)–Delete LRECs from a subfile
Use this command to delete logical records (LRECs) from a subfile.
ZUDFM DESCRIPTOR (ZUDFM OAD): Generate database description files
Use this command to produce the database description for a z/TPFDF file.
ZUDFM DISPLAY (ZUDFM OA*): Display LRECS in a subfile
Use this command to display the contents of block headers or logical records (LRECs) in various formats by using different types of search criteria.
ZUDFM ENCRYPT (ZUDFM OAY): Manage encryption settings
Use this command to manage the z/TPFDF encryption settings for a z/TPFDF file.
ZUDFM FAD (ZUDFM OA): Link to a subfile using the file address
Use this command to link the current terminal to a subfile when you know the file address of the prime block.
ZUDFM FCH (ZUDFM OAF)–Display forward and backward chaining
ZUDFM FILE (ZUDFM OAI/FILE)–Display information about DSECTs
ZUDFM HELP (ZUDFM OAH)–Help for ZUDFM commands
Use this command to get help information about specified ZUDFM commands.
ZUDFM INFO (ZUDFM OAB): Display block trailer information
Use this command to display the block trailer information of a single data block.
ZUDFM INIT (ZUDFM OAINIT): Initialize files
Use this command to initialize an entire file or part of a file, and to optionally release embedded pool file references or save the prime blocks.
ZUDFM LOG (ZUDFM OAL)–Display recent ZUDFM commands
ZUDFM METADATA (ZUDFM OAM): Manage metadata XML files for z/TPFDF databases
SDO access to z/TPFDF is no longer supported.
ZUDFM MLS (ZUDFM OAT)– Manage macro label set
ZUDFM PACK (ZUDFM OAP): Pack a subfile
Use this command to remove unused space in a subfile or to build or rebuild a B⁺Tree index.
ZUDFM REPLACE (ZUDFM OAR)–Replace user data in an LREC
ZUDFM RESTRICT (ZUDFM OAE)–Restrict table handling
ZUDFM TOD (ZUDFM OAZ)–Convert time-of-day clock time into standard format
ZUDFM TRACE (ZUDFM OAS): Display file information during tracing
Use this command to display information during a trace.
