Overview

IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS® enables you to monitor and manage workload performance and resource utilization of entire sysplexes, as well as the individual z/OS® systems that participate in them.

IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS® monitoring agents located on each z/OS image provide extensive system-level performance and usage information. In addition, they monitor the status and configuration of IBM® cryptographic coprocessors installed in Series z servers and provide data on UNIX System Services hosted on z/OS systems.

IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS® also provides comprehensive usage information for sysplex-level resources such as coupling facilities, global enqueue, global resource serialization (GRS) ring systems, shared DASD groups, and cross-system coupling facilities (XCFs), as well as performance information for the service classes, report classes, and resource groups that use those resources. The product provides both system-level and sysplex-wide reporting of actual and potential usage of special processor resources.

IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS® provides detailed monitoring and problem management for z/OS systems. By combining metrics data that is collected from components such as IBM z/OS Resource Measurement Facility, Workload Manager, Coupling Facility, Cross System Coupling Facility, Global Enqueue, shared DASD, and USS workload, users can monitor and manage these key subsystems. It provides the visibility, usability, and performance that are required to make managing these environments and components more efficient and effective, preventing or reducing downtime due to outages.
