The new installer file contains the following multiple installers:
  • Support for provisioning instances to a Red Hat® OpenShift® target environment in the web server

ZD&T 13.2.0 Enterprise Edition web server supports provisioning a z/OS® instance that is running on an emulated IBM Z® hardware to a Red Hat OpenShift target environment. After you create an image, you can provision an instance from the created image to a Red Hat OpenShift target environment. Also, you can convert a created image to a cloud-ready image, and reuse the cloud-ready image for faster subsequent provisioning to this Red Hat OpenShift environment.

For more information, see Converting an image to a cloud-ready image and Provisioning instances to a Red Hat OpenShift environment.

  • An updated license generator

The license generator for ZD&T in the Rational® License Key Center (RLKC) is updated. You can generate a license that will always be valid even if the underlying hardware of the machine that is running your Software-based License Server changes.

For more information, see An updated license generator is available for IBM Z Development and Test Environment.

  • A getting started checklist for administrators

A new getting started checklist for administrators is added to ZD&T 13.2.0 Enterprise Edition web server. The checklist contains the required and optional configuration tasks that need to be done by an administrator to get ZD&T up and running. To view the checklist, click the Account Info icon in the upper right corner and select Checklist.

zPDT

The zPDT® driver that is used in all ZD&T 13.2.0 editions is updated to zPDT 1.10.55.08.02. The new emulator includes the following fixes.
  • Deferred No Record Found unit check does not work correctly for some CCW in the awsckd stanza.
  • The shebang (#!) in the Linux® is missing from line one in a few zPDT scripts.
  • The command safenet_daemons_restart deletes the original lines on the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 15.x.
  • z/OS and z/OS Container Extensions (zCX) startup issues are fixed.
  • Emulation of System z® Networking (OSA) no longer requires the root authority because it is now handled by the Linux capabilities. Linux system can install the OSA by default on the Red Hat and Ubuntu, but cannot install the OSA on the SUSE. You need to install the support by using the command sudo zypper install libcap-progs.
