What's new in ZD&T V12.0.4
The following new features and changes are added for ZD&T Version 12.0.4.
ZD&T Personal Edition
- A separate installer ZDT_Install_PE_V12.0.4.0.tgz is available to install Personal Edition. For more information, see Installing Personal Edition.
ZD&T Enterprise Edition
- A separate installer ZDT_Install_EE_V12.0.4.0.tgz is available to install Enterprise Edition. For more information, see Installing Enterprise Edition.
- ZD&T Enterprise Edition V12.0.4 supports configuring IBM Z® mainframe systems that include Db2® subsystems. Then, you can create application components that contain Db2 artifacts from IBM Z mainframe systems. For more information, see Configuring Db2 subsystems and Creating an application component from an Development and Test Environment Db2 subsystem.
- The cryptographic coprocessor setting is added on the Image - Z components and Image - ADCD pages. If you need to run a zPDT® that is configured to require a cryptographic coprocessor, you can enable this function to configure the number of cryptographic coprocessors. For more information, see step 7 in Creating an application image from IBM Z components.
- The new installer ZDT_Install_EE_V12.0.4.0.tgz contains a YAML file that can be used to add ZD&T REST API through Zowe API Gateway. For more information, see Adding REST API through Zowe API Gateway.
- IPL advanced settings is added in the Target environments of Monitor and manage page. When you start an offline or stopped emulator, you can change the IPL parameters by using the advanced settings. For more information, see Starting the emulated z/OS.
- The function of deleting a configured IBM Z mainframe system is added in ZD&T V12.0.4.
- The function of creating application components from IBM Z Db2 subsystems is added in the REST APIs User's Guide. For more information, see Creating Db2 components from z/OS system.
ZD&T Parallel Sysplex
- A separate installer ZDT_Install_PS_V12.0.4.0.tgz is available to install Parallel Sysplex®. For more information, see Installing Parallel Sysplex.
Application Developers Controlled Distribution
Application Developers Controlled Distribution (ADCD) z/OS Version 2 Release 3 May Edition of 2019 is available with all ZD&T V12.0.4 editions.

zPDT Emulator 1.9.1
The zPDT driver that is used in all ZD&T V12.0.4
editions is updated to zPDT V1.9.1. The new emulator includes
the following changes:
- Updated sntl-sud and zpdt-shk-server debian packages to not use the directory /usr/lib/systemd/system. For Ubuntu, the correct location is /lib/systemd/system. For RHEL and SLES, the correct location is /usr/lib/systemd/system.
- Fixed the issue that a large rules.ini file causes coredumps when you run serverconfig_cli.
- zPDT is supported in the Docker container with certain conditions. For more information, see Docker container support.
