Mining content

The IBM Watson® Explorer Content Miner is the tool analysts use to analyze and create collections. You can immediately begin an analysis of any collections on the page, you can edit details of those collections, and you can create new collections, classifiers, and custom annotators.

When you start Watson™ Explorer Content Miner, you will see a screen similar to the following screen.

You can click Create Collection to create a new collection. For more information, see Add a collection. You will also see all existing collections displayed. In this case, there is only one collection, named NHTSA. You can click options to edit or delete the collection, or to start indexing, or to rebuild the index.

To start analyzing the collection, click anywhere within the collection.

What do you want to analyze?

When you click in the collection, the following screen is displayed.

You can type terms on the line below the title, or you can select items from the bar charts shown. In this case, TOYOTA has been selected. You can select multiple items.

You can select which types of objects to display from the drop-down menu. The choices are described here.

Metadata Facets
This view displays the dataset fields you defined when you created the dataset and the collection. You can select facets, a date range, or a saved analysis, if one exists.
Facets
This view displays the facets created through enrichment.
Custom
This view allows you to customize facets for analysis.

After you choose the facets to analyze, click analyze. You will now enter into the guided analysis view.
