Connecting to AWS

To connect Turbonomic to your AWS environment, perform the following tasks:

  1. Configure firewall and proxy access.

    If you run Turbonomic behind a firewall, configure firewall and proxy access.

  2. Set up an IAM user or IAM role in AWS.

    Turbonomic discovers and monitors your AWS workloads through an IAM user or IAM role that you set up in AWS.

  3. Set up a Cost and Usage Report in AWS.

    Turbonomic uses a Cost and Usage Report stored in an S3 bucket to visualize historical cloud expenses, and discover discounts and billing family relationships.

  4. Add an AWS Billing target in Turbonomic.

    Authorize a secure connection to your workloads and cost data.

    To authorize the connection, add an AWS Billing target in the Turbonomic user interface.

  5. Add an AWS target in Turbonomic.

    Authorize a secure connection to your workloads.

    To authorize the connection, add an AWS target in the Turbonomic user interface.
