Transitioning from Sterling Store Engagement (Legacy)

Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) is built on the latest UI technology, which is Angular framework. The next-generation application supports a host of new features that are not available in the legacy Sterling Store Engagement application, which is built on Dojo and AngularJS frameworks.

The transition topics aim to provide guidance for System Implementors who are responsible for transitioning from an existing Sterling Store Engagement (Legacy) application to Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) application, which is available for both cloud and on-prem solutions.

Important:

Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) in development and quality assurance (QA) environments: If you are using Sterling Store Engagement (Legacy), raise a support ticket for IBM to deploy Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) in your development and quality assurance (QA) environments. After the deployment is successful, you must develop and verify your customizations, and start using Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) in development and quality assurance (QA) environments within four months. Then, raise another support ticket for IBM to deploy Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) in your preproduction and production environments for user and load testing.

Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) in preproduction and production environments: After Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) is deployed in your preproduction and production environments, verify your customizations in these environments. Within six weeks, switch to Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation). After the six weeks window is complete, only Sterling Store Engagement (Next-generation) will be available for all your stores.
