Roles
On the Roles page, you can view the available roles, their description, and the actions that can be assigned to users in this account for each service.
A security administrator can add one or more roles, or edit the users and own roles.
The IBM® Storage Defender®:
- IBM Storage Defender core services roles are listed in the table, see Table 1.
- Data Resiliency Service is managed through Access points. To learn more about Access points and assign access to individual users, see User management.Note: For the IBM Storage Defender core services and Data Resiliency Service, see the instructions in Viewing roles.
- Data Management Service user roles are managed directly from the DMS user interface (UI), under . On the Access Management page, under the Roles tab, you can see a list of default roles. See Managing user roles.
IBM Storage Defender core roles
The following table lists the IBM Storage Defender core roles:

| SRE | Site reliability engineer |
| Security admin | Security admins have Service user permissions and can manage access to IBM Storage Defender and its services. |
| Service user | Service users can access the services for which they have an assigned role. |
