Building charts

The Charts tab provides options for building charts from predefined gallery of charts or from the individual parts (for example, axes and bars). You build a chart by selecting a gallery chart type or basic elements from the provided chart type options. See Layout and terms for descriptions.

As you are building the chart, the canvas displays a preview of the chart. The preview uses the actual variable labels and measurement levels that are representative of your actual data.

Using the gallery is the preferred method for new users. For information about using the gallery, see Building a chart from the chart type gallery.

Starting the Chart builder

• Right click the data node you want to work with and then select View Data.
