Create a user flow

You can provide secure login registration access to your applications and services hosted in IBM® Security Verify with user flows. A user flow can reduce new user frustration, increase registration rates, and reduce support costs. The Verify user flow can be customized to your needs, including identity validation and branding themes.

Before you begin

  • You must have administrative permission to complete this task.
  • Log in to the IBM Security Verify administration console as an Administrator. For more information, see Accessing IBM Security Verify.

Procedure

  1. Select User experience > User registration.
  2. Click Create flow to create a new registration flow for your users.
The sections of the user registration form are shown in the pane on the left side of the page. When getting started with a new user flow, set a few options and then, if needed, you can change or add to the settings later.
  3. In the Flow setup section of the user registration page, enter the following values.
    1. Enter the Name for your new user flow.
    2. Optional: The URL path field is completed based on the value in the Name field. Change the value in the URL path field if a different URL is needed. No spaces or special characters are allowed in the value. The example URL following the URL path field changes as the value is entered.
    3. Select the Primary language.
Note: The value cannot be changed later.

In the Password creation section of the User registration page, verify the default choice to ask the user to create a password during registration or select the alternative to email a temporary password to the user.

In the Theme section of the User registration page, verify the default choice. For more information, see Managing branding.

In the Post-registration section of the User registration page, verify where to redirect the user after they register. For example, the user can be directed after registration to the login page for your Verify tenant. An option to have an email sent to the user when the registration succeeds is also available in the Post-registration actions section.

In the Human verification section of the User registration page, click the checkbox to verify that you want to ensure that the user is human. Under Methods, select the method that you want to use for your flow. Set the Recapture score to a number that is between 0.0 to 1.0.

In the Dynamic redirect section of the User registration page, configure a URL redirection after a user registers. The options to authenticate a user after they create an account and to overwrite the existing post-registration URL are available.

  4. Click the Start building flow button. A draft of the new user flow is created and the User registration page is displayed.
  5. In the middle pane of the User registration page, scroll down to the I have read and agree to the Terms of Service. checkbox and click the field. The Form element editor opens in the right pane of the page. Choose an End User License Agreement (EULA) for the user. Select the Agreement attribute and from the pull-down menu select an EULA document.
To add your own EULA to the pull-down menu, select the Configure agreements link. For more information, see Managing end user license agreements.
  6. Select Save changes at the bottom of the page.
  7. In the right pane, select Publish to make the user registration flow available to your users.
Note: You can click the Get preview link to view the form before publishing. Under Details, select Active or Inactive Status to change the availability of the flow to your users.
