Downloadable documentation for earlier releases of IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition
Some earlier releases of the SDK are no longer supported unless you have an extended support contract with IBM. For these releases, product information is no longer maintained; existing information is provided in offline format only, as Eclipse plug-ins or Adobe Acrobat PDF files.
Installing an Eclipse software site package
An Eclipse software site package enables you to integrate a complete set of IBM SDK documentation into your existing Eclipse help contents.
- Download the software site package.
- Add the software site to your Eclipse installation as an Archive. For more information, see the instructions for your version of Eclipse, for example Adding a new software site.
- Install the "Documentation for IBM® SDK, Java™ Technology Edition" item from the software site package. Again, see the instructions for your version of Eclipse, for example Installing new software.
Deploying a plug-in into Eclipse
Older SDK documentation is available as individual Eclipse plug-ins, which you can deploy into
your Eclipse installation.
- Download an Eclipse plug-in .jar file.
- Copy the .jar file into the dropins directory for your Eclipse installation, for example C:\Users\username\eclipse\java-2019-12\eclipse\dropins.
- Start Eclipse.
- Click . The plug-in should be visible in the Contents pane.
Reading the product documentation in PDF format
Some SDK documentation is available as a PDF file as well as an Eclipse plug-in.
- Download a PDF file.
- Open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Reader or another tool that supports PDF format.
