What's new in Rational Programming Patterns

The following new capabilities are introduced in Rational® Programming Patterns Version 9.7.2.

Enhanced design editors

  • To prevent any inconsistencies, the name of a Database Block is selected in the creation wizard and cannot be changed after the Block is created, even inside the same category.
  • A new quick fix can be used to add a missing Segment to the -LS Lines of a Data Structure when this Segment was created in the local workspace as the result of a copied change set in Engineering Workflow Management (Rational Team Concert).
  • The Screen name is displayed in the titles of the Screen Emulator and Screen Address view.

Enhanced micropatterns

  • The micropatterns are available again in the Snippets view to make their declaration easier through the insertion wizard.
  • The content assist facility is extended to the micropattern declaration lines where parameters have not been valued yet. If the cursor is set after the = sign of a parameter whose possible values are a predefined list of values, the content assist displays the list of the possible values with the description of each value.
  • A new SIP (Segment in Program) parameter is available in the WF micropattern to rename a Segment.

Enhanced impact analysis

  • A new Macro cross-references choice is available in the -CP Lines. It opens the result view of a Macro cross-reference search for the selected Macro.
  • The mention Missing entry point is displayed in the generation manager when the workspace contains a generated file but not its origin design instance.

Miscellaneous

  • New configurations are available to filter the Rational Programming Patterns information messages, warnings, and errors in the Problems view.
