Validate the installation
Learn how to validate if IBM Robotic Process Automation on premises server was installed successfully.
Procedure
You can use the following procedures to validate the installation:
- Check if IBM MQ works with IBM RPA
- Check whether you are able to log in to IBM RPA Control Center
- Check the installation logs
- Optional: Check the UMS logs
Check if IBM MQ works with IBM RPA
See Validating IBM MQ for more information.
Check whether you are able to log in to IBM RPA Control Center
After the IBM RPA installation, log in to IBM RPA Control Center. Use the server address and the IBM RPA Control Center port that you provide at the IBM RPA server installation, for example 192.0.2.0:7780
. If it's your first access
to the IBM RPA Control Center, see First user access.
The page must connect with the server configurations and load its components. You must be able to see the login screen and log in with your user and password.
Check the installation logs
Check the installation logs to look for possible errors or warnings messages during the installation process.
From the Windows Explorer or the Windows Run (Win + R), search for %programdata%\IBM Robotic Process Automation\Setup
and open the SetupServerServices
file. This log file is generated during the IBM RPA server installation.
You can check all events that occurred during the IBM RPA server installation and look for Error
and WARNING
messages that might cause problems in your IBM RPA environment.
Optional: Check the UMS logs
Follow this step only if you chose Single Sing-On (SSO) as an authentication method and configured the UMS server.
Check whether UMS is used by the IBM RPA server. From the Windows Explorer or the Windows Run (Win + R), search for %programdata%\IBM Robotic Process Automation\servers\umsServer\logs
and open the http_access.log
file. This log file is generated when you set up UMS server during the IBM RPA server installation.
You can review all request events by the IBM RPA server to UMS and OIDC endpoints and check the status to look for potential problems in your IBM RPA environment.
What to do next
If you have problems with the IBM RPA on premises server installation, see Troubleshooting the IBM RPA on premises installation or contact IBM Support.
After you install and configure the IBM RPA server, you need to install the IBM RPA client to build and deploy your bots. For more information, see Installing the client.
