Managing users
This section details the user management interface in Tenant and the types of roles a user can have.
By registering your account with a tenant, you can access and use the IBM Robotic Process Automation solution, including the IBM RPA Portal, IBM RPA Studio, and IBM RPA Launcher.
In the IBM RPA Portal, the configuration interfaces are limited for each type of user, the common user, the administrator user, and the super administrator user.
User management
The following procedures describe the actions available for user management.
Requirements: The user must have administrator or super administrator permission.
Procedure for user creation
- From the left side menu, go to Access > New User.
- Click the Single user creation > Next button.
- Fill out the form:
- In the Name field, enter the user name.
- In the Email field, enter the user's email. This is the email used during login.
- In the Groups field, select which groups the user belongs to.
- In the field Language Preference, select the Preferred Web Client display language.
- Select the Administrator selection field.
- Select the selection field Super Administrator.
Procedure for edit existing user
- From the left side menu, go to Access.
- Click the ellipsis button
> Edit.
- Fill out the form:
- In the Name field, enter the user name.
- In the Email field, enter the user's e-mail.This is the email used during login.
- In the Groups field, select which groups the user belongs to.
- In the field Language Preference, select the Preferred Web Client display language.
- Select the Administrator selection field.
- Select the selection field Super Administrator.
- The button Restore Password, click to send a password restore email to the user.
Procedure for revocation of existing user
- From the left side menu, go to Access.
- Click the ellipsis button
> Revoke administrator rights.
Procedure for referring to existing user confirmation email
- From the left side menu, go to Access.
- Click the ellipsis button
> Send confirmation email.
Procedure for resetting user vault credentials
- From the left side menu, go to Access.
- Click the ellipsis button
> Reset Vault Credentials.
Procedure for existing user deleting
- From the left side menu, go to Access.
- Click the ellipsis button
> Deactivate.
User roles
User roles limit user access to specific Tenant configuration interfaces. A user has only one role in effect on his account. The matrix below lists the existing roles and configuration interfaces available for each role.
