Installing Rational ClearQuest

Information about installing IBM Rational® ClearQuest®

Starting with release 7.1, IBM Installation Manager is used to install Rational ClearQuest. Installation Manager is a program for installing, updating, and modifying packages. It helps you manage the IBM applications, or packages, that it installs on your computer. Installation Manager does more than install packages: It helps you keep track of what you have installed, determine what is available for you to install, and organize installation directories. See the IBM Installation Manager Information Center for more information: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/install/v1r4/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.cic.agent.ui.doc/topics/c_cap_overview.html

Important: If you have not already done so, review the information in Planning your deployment before starting a Rational ClearQuest installation.
Tip: To determine the version of the Installation Manager Information Center that you are using, go to the Welcome page: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/install/v1r4/index.jsp

For interactive guidance on which information center topics you will need for your site installation, see Create a road map for installing IBM Rational ClearQuest.

For information about detailed steps for several installation scenarios, see Installation scenario walkthroughs. This section provides step-by-step instructions for four common installation scenarios for ClearCase and ClearQuest.
