Configuring the geographic view

You can configure the way that data appears in the map on the Geographic view tab.

Procedure

  1. Open the home page, and then click the Geographic view tab.
  2. Click Map config.
    The Map configuration window opens.
  3. In the Map layers, choose the map data that you want to show.
    • Select Countries/regions to use colors to highlight the countries or regions that are involved in the network communication.
    • Select Communications to show lines that represent the network traffic between each area on the map.
  4. In the Country/region layer configuration section, choose the type of data that you want to use as criteria for highlighting the map countries and regions.

For example, if you want to highlight the countries or regions that have the highest volume of data transfers, select Total bytes.

  5. Use the Communications layer configuration settings to manage which data appears on the map.
    1. In the Sort field, select that field that is used to sort the data.

For example, if you choose to use the Maximum outlier score as the sort field, the first page of the map view shows the network communications that have the highest outlier scores. The last page of the map view shows the lowest outlier scores.

    2. In the Sort order field, choose whether to sort in ascending or descending order.
    3. In the Items per page field, specify how many items to show on a single map page.
  6. Select the Show pagination controls on map checkbox if you want to show the pagination controls on the map.

If you deselect this checkbox, you can still use the pagination controls in the Map configuration window.

Tip: If your system has a large volume of network data, you can use the Items per page field and the Show pagination controls on map setting to minimize the time that it takes to redraw the map.
