Deploying a DB2 virtual application pattern HADR standby part

Deploy an IBM® DB2® high availability disaster recovery (HADR) standby part for a virtual system database pattern. The standby part should be created before the primary part is created.

Before you begin

Make sure you have separate racks with the same version and build of the DB2 virtual system image that you want to create.

Procedure

  1. Create a new virtual system pattern for the DB2 standby part. In the console, click Patterns > Virtual System Patterns (Classic), then click New (green plus icon sign).
  2. Enter a name and description for the pattern.
  3. In the Virtual Systems Pattern pane, click Edit in Pattern Editor to add the DB2 standby part.
  4. From the Parts list, locate the appropriate version of the DB2 Enterprise HADR standby part that you want to install, then drag and drop it onto the topology canvas.
  5. Save the virtual system pattern and deploy the virtual system.
  6. Enter your deployment configuration details in the deployment window.
  7. Click OK to deploy the database pattern.
  8. After the HADR standby deployment completes, record the database host name, the service port number, and the host name. You must have this information when setting up the HADR primary part.
