Deploying a DB2 virtual application pattern HADR primary part

Use the console to deploy an IBM® DB2® high availability disaster recovery (HADR) primary part for a virtual system database pattern. The standby part must be deployed before the primary part is deployed.

Before you begin

You must create the DB2 standby part before you create the DB2 primary part.

Procedure

  1. Create a new virtual system pattern for the DB2 primary part. In the console, click Patterns > Virtual System Patterns (Classic), then click New (green plus icon sign).
  2. Enter a name and description for the pattern.
  3. In the Virtual Systems Pattern pane, click Edit > Pattern Editor to add the DB2 primary part.
  4. From the Parts, locate the appropriate version of the DB2 Enterprise HADR primary part that you want to install, then drag and drop it onto the topology canvas.
  5. Save the virtual system pattern and deploy the virtual system.
  6. Enter pattern deployment details including the environment and virtual part configurations.
  7. Enter the passwords for all of the users associated with the database pattern, making sure that the users and the passwords are identical to the standby part.
  8. If the DB2 HADR standby part is deployed in a separate pattern from the primary, enter the standby host name, root password, and port number in the primary part deployment configurations.
  9. Click OK to deploy the database pattern.
