Removing a memory module from the
9105-22A, 9105-22B, or 9786-22H system
To remove a memory module from the system, complete the steps in this
procedure.
Procedure
Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge
(ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged into a ground jack or connected to an
unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
Based on the memory location you are working on,
remove the retainer that secures the memory for that location.
For the side memory module location, push
out on the memory retainer latches to release the retainer. Then, lift the retainer up.Figure 1. Removing a retainer from the side memory module locations
For the small memory module location, push in on the
memory retainer latches to release the retainer. Then, lift the retainer up.Figure 2. Removing a retainer from the small memory module location
For the large memory module location, push in on the
larger memory retainer latches on one side to partially release the retainer. Then, push in on the
other side to fully release the retainer, and lift the retainer up.Figure 3. Removing a retainer from the large memory module locations
Hold the memory module at the edges. Lift the memory module from its
connector.

If the removed part is used again, place the part on an electrostatic
discharge (ESD) mat.
