Create a Selector visualization to manage views

A Selector is a unique type of visualization that lets you pick members, sets, or levels for views (either exploration or visualization) in a book. When a Selector is synchronized with a book or a sheet, a selection in the Selector is applied to the views in the book or sheet. For example, suppose that you have an exploration or visualization and the overview is hidden. You can add a Selector to the book, then click an item in the Selector to change the data in the view.

About this task

All Selector visualizations can be customized with the options available on the Custom tab of the visualization properties pane.
  1. While a book is in edit mode, click the Selector visualization,
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click the Custom tab.

There are several property categories available on the Custom tab. You might need to expand a category to reveal all available options.
