Narrowing down selections in the set editor
If you have large dimensions, you can make it easier to find what you are looking for in the set editor by narrowing the selection in the Available members panel.
You can filter selections in the following ways:
- Restrict the content in the set editor to the selected members and their descendants

Select the members in the Available members panel and click Keep.
A selection is created that replaces All members. You can search in this selection, and you can use the selection to create a set.
- Select one of the default sets
- You can choose to display Default set, All roots,
All members, or All leaves by default.
From the Menu of a selected member, you can also:
- Drill down on one or more members
- Select Drill down from the menu to drill down on the selected member. This option creates a selection that can be searched in or used to create a set.
- Expand selected members and show their descendants
- Select Expand to descendants to show the all the descendants for the selected member. To collapse one or more expanded members, select the members, and from the Menu, click Collapse.
- Show all ancestors
- Select Show and choose Ancestors to show the selected member and its ancestors. Other members are hidden. This option creates a selection.
- Show all decendents
- Select Show and choose Descendants to show just the selected member and its descendants. Other members are hidden. This option creates a selection.
- Show immediate parents
- Select Show and choose Parents to show just the selected member and its immediate parents. Other members are hidden. This option creates a selection.
- Show all children
- Select Show and choose Children to show the selected member and its children. Other members are hidden. This option creates a selection.
- Show all leaves
- Select Show and choose Leaves to show the selected member and all its leaves. Other members are hidden. This option creates a selection.
