Organize editors on the workbench

You can move editors to different tabsets on the workbench to optimize your modeling environment.

About this task

When you initially open or create an asset, the editor for the asset is inserted as a new tab on the active tabset of the workbench. You can move the editors to new tabsets or rearrange the tabs on an individual tabset. You can also maximize an individual tabset to provide more working space.

Procedure

  1. To rearrange editors on an individual tabset, drag and drop the tab for an editor to a new location on the tabset. A vertical bar indicates the new position for the tab.
  2. If a tabset on a workbench contains at least two tabs, you can drag a tab from the tabset and drop it on a different region of the workbench to create a new tabset. As you drag the tab around the workbench, grey highlighted regions indicate the locations where you can drop the tab to create a new tabset.

  3. If a workbench contains multiple tabsets, it can be difficult to work in some editors. You can click Maximize tabset Maximize tabset icon on any tabset to expand the tabset to occupy the full workbench space. After you're done working, click Restore tabset Restore Tabset icon to return to a view of all tabsets.
