Adding new customer verticals

You can add a new Customer Vertical, using the Vertical screen.

About this task

Note: The fields marked with * in the New Value dialog box are mandatory.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Vertical screen. To navigate to the Vertical screen perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Enterprise Administrator.
    2. From the System Setup Home page, expand the Customer Definitions menu, and then click Customer Verticals .

      The Vertical screen is displayed. Existing customer verticals, if any, are displayed.

  2. Click the Add button to create a new vertical. The New Value dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Vertical ID box, ensure that you specify a unique identifier for the vertical.
    The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Vertical ID box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique code.
  4. In the Vertical Name box, ensure that you specify the name of the vertical, as you want it to appear throughout the system. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Vertical Name box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique name.
  5. In the Vertical Description box, enter a detailed description for the vertical. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Vertical Description box is 100 characters.
  6. Click Save.
