Create a resource pool

You can create a resource pool to manage resources for a node.

About this task

A resource pool represents the group of individual resources that perform the services. It is the primary mechanism of defining and managing capacity within the Inventory Management module.
Important: If you have already assigned a particular delivery method to a resource pool, you cannot assign the same delivery method to another resource pool. For example, create Res1 resource pool and assign Ship delivery method. Create Res2 resource pool and assign Pick Up delivery method. Now, if you attempt to create another resource pool, say Res3 and assign either one (Ship or Pick Up) or both (Ship and Pick Up) delivery methods, an appropriate error message is displayed. This is because, you have already created two resource pools and assigned a delivery method to each of the resource pools. Therefore, you will not be able to create a third resource pool and assign any or both delivery methods.

If a resource pool is defined without selecting a delivery method, then it will be used for all delivery methods (Ship or Pick). If a resource pool is defined for a particular delivery method (Ship), then you should define a resource pool for the other delivery method (Pick) or a common resource pool, otherwise capacity will be considered as unavailable for undefined delivery method(Pick).
