Pricing management

The Pricing Service provides the ability to store and maintain all the pricing and promotions data at the Pricing Organization.

Overview of pricing service
The Pricing Service acts as a hub for every pricing and promotion calculation that occurs in Sterling Order Management System Software. Even if pricing data is passed to a third party, the data is funneled back through the Pricing Service before being passed to the consuming application.

Using the Sterling Business Center pricing home page
The Pricing home page provides hyperlinks that enable you to perform tasks related to pricing administrator. If you want to navigate to the Home page at any point of time when using the application, click Home in the menu bar.
Initial configurations for pricing administration in Sterling Business Center
To utilize the functionalities provided by Sterling Business Center to the maximum extent, ensure that you set the rules appropriately in the Applications Manager before you start using the Sterling Business Center application.
Define charge definitions
You can define charge definitions that you can associate with orders and invoices by creating charge categories.
Configure pricing organization rules
Pricing Organization Rules define the rules or configurations that are defined by the pricing organization.
Configure pricing enterprise rules
Pricing enterprise rules screen allows you to configure enterprise-specific pricing rules.
Price type
The price type is a classification of price that could be defined for an item. An item can be associated with more than one price, for example, along with the base price, there can be additional prices like installation fee, activation charges, monthly fee, cancellation charges and so on. There could be such multiple prices associated with an item. Some of these prices are invoiced at the time of order creation, and some can be invoiced at regular intervals, where as some are can be created only for informational purpose. A pricing organization can define different price types for items based on the business need and requirement.
Configure pricing exclusivity group
In Sterling Business Center you can manage the pricing exclusivity group, which are used for assigning the exclusivity group to a pricing rule, manual pricing rule and a coupon. You can manage pricing exclusivity group by using the Pricing Exclusivity Group screen.
Pricing overrides
You can define rules for an override to allow, disallow, or allow an override with manager's approval.
Global pricing exclusions
In addition to excluding specific items, categories, or attributes from individual pricing rules, you can also exclude specific items, categories, or attributes from all pricing rules for a pricing organization by defining global pricing exclusions.
Managing pricing for items
You can manage pricing for returns, refunds, and exchanges.
Test pricing setup in Sterling Business Center
After configuring the price lists, pricing rules, and coupons, you can test the price of the items added to an order on a particular date and time. You can also test the order price by selecting the coupons to be applied to the order.
